The large Kursaal forms the elegant heart of the building. It is suitable for congresses, conventions, trade fair events, exhibitions, concerts, balls, large celebrations, banquets and fashion shows. The hall owes its outstanding acoustics to its rounded vaults. Large windows on the facades and roof gables allow plenty of daylight to enter the festive Art Nouveau hall. ROTUNDA

ROTUNDA

The Rotunda – a large reception area under a “starlit sky”

The Rotunda is the festive reception area in the Kurhaus. The wide staircase leads directly up to the first level of the three-storey Rotunda and the Gallery. The architect Friedrich Ohmann was so fascinated by the new effects made possible by electric light that he wanted to offer visitors a “starlit sky” by means of an arrangement of numerous small lamps. With its pastel-coloured columns of artificial marble, large mirrors and fine paintings, the area under the dome offers an elegant ambience as a reception and break interval area.

Glass leaf doors lead via a marble-white external stairway to the promenade. This charming area is used as an entrance for celebrations in the Kursaal.
